SoftBoulders is pleased to unveil Shells, a marine retail concept built around a difficult positioning question: how many times can a company insist it sells actual shells before that becomes the suspicious part?

The client arrived with three products, an offshore vocabulary, and a firm preference for keeping the discovery workshop off the record. Our assignment was to create a storefront that could sustain both interpretations of the business without taking responsibility for either.

Put something tangible on the desk.

The Totally Legit Shell provides an accessible entry point. The No Questions Asked Conch introduces a premium privacy narrative. For customers seeking a diversified position, the Shell LLC Starter Pack offers twelve identical shells. We advised that duplication and diversification are different concepts. The client asked us to put that advice in a separate invoice.

The resulting site uses a simple catalog, an emphatic mission statement, and a Frequently Avoided Questions section. This last component proved more aligned with the organization than a conventional FAQ, which would have created an unreasonable expectation of answers.

Let the ambiguity do the work.

We kept the product descriptions short enough to read and vague enough to survive a board meeting. The brand's repeated assurances of legitimacy carry the joke; no elaborate financial machinery is necessary when a conch can already look this evasive.

Visitors can inspect the shell selection, read the company's unusually defensive assurances, and consider whether twelve identical objects really constitute a portfolio. Our engagement concludes with an important milestone: the business now has a public face. Its registered address remains a matter of coastal interpretation.
